I grew up loving the movies and skimming through fashion magazines. As a little girl, I would play with makeup every chance I got. One profound day, I remember, I was only 7 years old. I put a whole face of makeup (yes, foundation, eye shadow, eye liner, blush, lipstick, etc.) to go to school. My Mother of course made me take it all off immediately, but never forgot how pretty I did my makeup and I soon started doing her makeup for all of the social events my parents attended.
At the time in Colorado, there were very few makeup schools, so I attended Cosmetology School. Makeup would continue to be my passion and lead me to work for major cosmetic lines such as Borghese, Orlane, and Lancome. Being these companies were more interested in sales than artistry, I began seeking out photographers and working on everything from weddings to special events and modeling portfolios.
My life changing event happened when I met a talented producer and he offered me an assistant position in the makeup and special effects department in his upcoming film. On my first day, within the first hour, I knew very quickly that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I always knew there were people that did the makeup and created injuries, but until this day, I had no idea how to obtain that dream I had as a child.
Today, I pursue all aspects of makeup. My passion is to create art, as I look at the face as a canvass that can be transformed into anything your mind can imagine.
Ciao Bellas,
Alexandria xoxo
